Are there any restrictions on the image size and type?

Submissions to the photo competition must be JPEG images and must not exceed 1 megabyte in size. Many digital cameras produce files which are 5 megabytes or more. In such cases you will need to resize your image before submitting it.

How do I reduce the size of my image?

There are many applications to resize images. The best known of these is Adobe Photoshop. If you do not have access to such software, you can use a free online image resizing service such as Resize 2 Mail.

What are the terms and conditions of the competition?

You can view the complete terms and conditions here.

Am I allowed to vote twice?

You can only place one vote per photograph. This is to enable a fair competition. If you try and vote for the same photograph twice, the computer will not accept your vote. You can however, vote once for as many photographs as you like.

I have submitted a photo and haven't had a confirmation email

In order to prevent unsuitable images being entered in the competition, the competition organisers are required to approve all entries before they appear on the competition website. This process is carried out daily during working hours. It is possible therefore, that if you submit an image at the weekend, it may not be approved until the next working day.

In cases where the competition organisers do not approve a photo, they will not notify the entrant.

What is the competition's privacy policy?

You can view our privacy policy here.

How do I vote

When you view a photo you will see a row of numbers from 1 to 10 beneath the photo. Simply click on one of these numbers to vote for the photo. 10 is the highest score and 1 the lowest, so if you love the photo, give it a 10!
